20150903_184106This short length of special space-age gasket material was very, very expensive, but thanks to the generosity of donors, it has arrived and now we can finish the Deming Box. The next pictures I post should be of the finished unit, ready for participants.

    Hi Glen,

It’s great to the box getting closer to completion. I’m truly looking forward to seeing the results of this experiment. Either way (that is whether you experience the Hum, or not, inside the box) it’ll be a very interesting result, and a step closer to a rational explanation for this strange phenomenon. It’ll also be very interesting to see what the media make of the result, particularly if the box actually does block the Hum.

I had a look at the Mouser site because I was curious about the gasket’s technical specifications, but I couldn’t find it . Does it go by a different name on their site?

Also, I was wondering if you’d figured out a way of dealing with the problem of holding the hatch door closed tightly enough. Maybe your idea of holding the door down with heavy weights would be the go. It’d be a lot simpler than some mechanical arrangement. And obviously you could apply a lot of force that way, that’s as long as the metal underneath didn’t flex too much.

Anyway thanks for doing just about all of the heavy lifting with this. It’s obviously an enormous undertaking! And, I should imagine, a fairly heavy responsibility as well. But I think a lot of people will be very interested in the outcome of this experiment.

    cheers

    Charlie
